I don’t know about you, but when I hear words like murderer and felony my mind goes to a very scary place. I think things like “that man’s dangerous” or “he’s a monster”. I pretty quickly think of them as a lost cause and something to be feared, or at least that’s how I thought until I watched this talk.
Shaka Senghor silences the room with his talk as his shares some of his darkest moments, and causes us to realize something very crucial. Even the darkest, meanest, nastiest of people are human, and they can turn their life around. Sometimes we need to let go of what happened in the past, and recognize what we can do now.
